The ROSS Fuzz is a pedal that never existed in the previous ROSS history, but its circuit was pulled from the Kustom amplifiers also made by Bud Ross during his Kustom Electronics era. John Fogerty used the Kustom amp’s distortion and other artists like the Grateful Dead, Leon Russell, Johnny Cash, The Jackson Five, Carl Perkins, the Carpenters and Charley Pride depended on these amps for many of their signature sounds. This pedal is a tribute to that transistorized Kustom distortion effect. It’s a fairly unorthodox fuzz, not associated with classic topologies like the Fuzz Face, Tone Bender or Big Muff.
