This Slingerland 4 piece is an awesome vintage player's kit that sounds huge and warm! It dates to the mid-to-late 1970s, with serial numbers falling in the early 300,000s. Sizes are 12x8, 13x9 16x16, 22x14.

The finish appears to be a black paint / lacquer. As far as we know the black kits that Slingerland produced in the 70s were wrapped, indicating that this may be a custom/aftermarket job. Regardless, it's a job well done, consistent across the shells, and gives the kit a certain dark allure. There are some scuffs and dings here and there, but overall the finish looks great.

The kit appears to have all-original hardware, including the set-o-matic tom holder, but minus the mufflers on the two rack toms, which are missing. Hardware shows some wear, but all moving parts are moving smoothly, and overall is in very good condition.

It has also been fitted with fresh set of REMO Coated Emperors on the toms, and the kick drum has a Coated Ambassador with lots of life left.
