This snare is sweet. A Conn-Era Leedy Broadway dating all the way back to 1936! That dates it to before Leedy was bought out by Ludwig, which is shown by this drum's Conn-era Badge and "Box" Lugs. A large part of what gives this snare (as well as some other snares of this era) such a unique character is its build. It is 1 ply of steam-bent mahogany! This gives the snare its warm, resonant character, one that is near impossible to replicate with a modern snare. That is why snare's like these are highly sought after by drummers today as not just collector's items, but as drums to be played! The previous owner clearly valued this snare as such, as it has been well-kept and is in player's condition. It has fresh Batter and Reso heads that suit the drum well, the shell is in round, and all moving parts operate smoothly. This drum is in great condition, with blemishes including some marking on the outside of the shell, as well as pitting and scratches on the hardware. It also comes with a case that appears to be originating from the same era, perhaps originally sold with the drum. Come through and experience a 30's single-ply snare drum in person!
