Have you ever wanted to play an instrument? Wondering how it feels to be in a band? Whatever your experience or ability, we are here to help you reach your musical goals. In addition to private lessons for guitar, pedal steel guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, drums, piano, violin, viola, cello, saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, harmonica, voice, music theory and songwriting, Twin Town Guitars also provides a variety of group-based and band-style music programs which include live stage performance opportunities.

Classes for All Ages


Private Lessons

From beginning to advanced, traditional to experimental, we offer on-site lessons in comfortable studios for guitar, pedal steel guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, drums, piano, mandolin, violin, viola, cello, saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, harmonica, voice, music theory and songwriting. Lessons are available seven days a week. We also produce winter and spring recitals at relaxed and local venues that are exciting for everyone!

Age: 4 Years - Up

Tuition: $30 (Per 30-Minute Lesson)


Sampler Session

Not sure where to begin? Join us for the private lesson Sampler Session that includes 2 Bass, 2 Drum, 2 Guitar, and 2 Keyboard Lessons. You don't need to own these instruments to attend, and at the end of the class, we'll provide you with a recommendation and options for continuing lessons with your chosen instrument.

Age: 5 Years - Up

Tuition: $240 (Eight, 30-Minute, Weekly Lessons)

 

Band Buddy Duos

If you and a friend or a parent play the same instrument and would like to start taking lessons together, this is the class for you. The Band Buddy Duos program offers six lessons with a high level of instructor attention for you and your buddy, and is available for guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, drums, mandolin, violin, viola, cello, saxophone, clarinet, flute, trombone and trumpet. (Students supply their own instrument, or instruments can be purchased at Twin Town Guitars.)

Age: 4 Years - Up

Date/Time: Six, weekly, 30-minute lessons, scheduled based on your request and studio/teacher availability

Classes for Youth & Teens


U is for Ukulele

During this six-week group session full of laughter and learning, discover the joy and simplicity of playing ukulele. No previous music experience is required, just your ukulele, your child or grandchild, and you. (Ukuleles are available for purchase at Twin Town Guitars starting at $30. All participants need an instrument.)

Age: 4 to 6 Years (Pre-K through Kindergarten)

Ukesters (U is for Ukulele Part 2)

This six-week long class is a continuation of U is for Ukulele. We'll learn more chords, more songs, and we'll sing and laugh. We'll also perform for family and friends at the end of the session. (Prerequisite: U is for Ukulele.)

Age: 4 to 6 Years (Pre-K through Kindergarten)

Beginning Rhythm

In this six-week long class, learn about rhythm and basic drumming technique, all while playing on anything from trashcans to pots and pans! This introduction to the wild world of percussion gives students an opportunity to explore the meaning of a beat and more. Also included are a pair of drumsticks and a live performance.

Age: 7 to 10 Years

Youth Band

Have fun rocking out with a band! Pick a band name, practice songs, try a new instrument, and learn the skills needed to perform on stage. This eight-week session concludes with a live performance at a local venue!

Age: 8 to 12 Years

Bridge Band

If you are ready to move past Youth Band, but are not quite ready for Teen Band, this is the place for you! We are looking for some experienced, serious rockers to rehearse for eight weeks, have some fun, and end the class with a live stage performance!

Age: 11 to 13 Years

Teen Band
Grab your instrument and rock in a band! Learn how to start a band, how to rehearse, how to select songs, and how to perform on stage. This eight-week session ends with a live performance at a local venue.

Group Guitar for Homeschool Youth & Teens

In this eight-week beginner class, learn guitar care, tuning, strumming, chords, and songs. This class concludes with a group performance at a local venue!

Musical Theater Camp at Bryant-Lake Bowl

Join experienced music teacher and theater director, Allison Raney, at the amazing Bryant-Lake Bowl Theater, in this musical theater skills class for youth! Through games and exercises, students will develop stage presence, self-esteem, presentation skills, vocal techniques, audition prep skills, creative movement, and expressive choreography. Explore story-telling, improvisation and character development while learning what it takes to put on a show. Family and friends are invited to a final performance too!

Age: 3rd Grade through 7th Grade

Summer Sessions Youth & Teen Band Camp 2016 - Session I & II

In this two-week long summer camp, students work with instructors to develop their skills as musicians while working in a group. Daily lessons focus on topics such as microphone and voice work, improvising, stage presence, and songwriting. Students select a band name, rehearse several songs, and record their music before heading to a live stage performance at a local venue!

Girl Powered Band Camp

We've got an amazing summer camp just for girls! In this fun and friendship building, two-week long camp, girls work with instructor Allison Raney to develop and hone their skills as musicians. Focusing on improvisation, stage presence and songwriting, the group concludes with a recording session and a live stage performance for family and friends!

Age: 8 to 12 years

Adult Jam

Get together with a group of people and form a band! With the guidance of musician, Mark Wade, of the Melismatics, students rehearse a set list of songs from indie to classic rock, and after six week, conclude with a live stage performance at a local venue!

Women Who Rock

Structured in the same way working bands rehearse and perform, the Women Who Rock class provides women an opportunity to select songs, to practice together, and to work creatively to produce a live stage performance at the end of this six-week session.

Twin Town Tributes: Alt Rock - CLASS FILLED

Feeling a little alternative lately? Ryan Smith, of the Melismatics, leads this energetic group, and the six-week session ends with a live stage performance at a local venue!

Twin Town Tributes: Blondie
Learn a set of songs by your favorite band or artist, and rehearse and perform the songs with a group of like-minded students. Guided by local musician, Jeff Krause, this six-week class concludes with a live stage performance at a local venue!

Twin Town Tributes: The Cure

Playing with this group will be Just Like Heaven! Join local musician, Jeff Krause, as he leads this band through the amazing sounds of The Cure. This six-week session finishes with a lively stage performance at a local venue.

Group Guitar for Beginners

In this eight-week beginner class, earn guitar care, tuning, strumming, chords, and a couple of fun songs.This relaxed introduction to guitar concludes and a live group performance at a local venue!

Advanced Group Guitar

If you took Group Guitar for Beginners or already know a few chords and want to move to the next level, then this fun and stress-free class is for you! Have a great time playing with other students and conclude with a live, group performance at a local venue!

Uke Group for Beginners

We've got a fever and the only prescription is more ukulele! In this six-week class learn how to care for and tune your ukulele, and each week, we will build on the previous lesson by adding new chords and songs. We will complete the class with a group performance at a local venue! (No previous music experience required, and ukuleles are available for purchase at Twin Town Guitars starting at $30.)

Uke2

If you want to take your ukulele playing to the next level, Uke2 is for you. Doesn't matter what shape or color of ukulele you play in this six-week class, we want to jam with uke!

It's Now or Never

If you are kicking yourself for not picking up that guitar you've had for years, or wish you would have continued taking piano lessons when you were younger, now is the time to get down to business! This program includes four, weekly lessons, and a free loaner instrument if needed. (Available lessons include: guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, keyboard, piano, and vocals.) At the end of the program, your instructor will help you transition into additional lessons too.

Seminars and Workshops


Music Theory Basics

This workshop will cover the theory of major and minor scales, keys and how they can be used to build chords. Music reading knowledge is not necessary for this class.

Ear Training Basics

Develop your ear by learning how to recognize the intervals between two notes. We will use familiar melodies as examples and have some fun with it by playing "Ear Training Bingo".

Vocal Improvisation Seminar

Local singer/songwriter, Stacy Berkner leads this creative vocal seminar. Develop strong warm-up technique, and improve ear training while performing vocal melodies and tones. Preparation for recording studio work, auditions, and live performance improv skills are also included.

Ukeshop

So you just got a ukulele, and you've learned a few chords. Now what? Take this crash course, and you'll be playing Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in no time.

Suzuki String Workshop for Youth Students

Students reinforce the points learned in private lessons, which may include rhythm, intonation, technique, note reading and sight reading. They also learn to play an as ensemble by playing pieces they've already learned in Suzuki books. This group is intended to form a community where the students feel inspired to learn more about music and to grow as musicians. (Some previous experience required.)
